Allan graduated from DeKalb High School in 95 and started 30 years ago in the heating and air conditioning business with Hawkins and Smith. He furthered his air conditioning education by graduating from Texarkana College Air Conditioning program in 97. In 2002 he switched to Smith Heat and Air. In 2016 Allan took over as Hodgson Heat and Air.  He and Melinda have been married since 2011. They have one son Zack Hodgson and one step son Clayton Graef.

Allan's been a DeKalb resident all his life. He would definitely like to thank the chamber, community, and customers for all their support throughout his years helping people stay warm in the winter or cool in the summer!

Christina's Tacos

Christina's Tacos is a local Food Truck Vendor here in DeKalb, TX. You'll  find them at their spot on E Grizzly or perhaps out at a festival or event locally. They serve all kinds of yummy foods from Tacos, Tortas, Quesadillas, Nachos, and Corn.

They are also one of the food trucks at the DeKalb Solar Eclipse Event on Saturday, April 6th at the City Park from 10 am till 6 pm.

DK Nutrition has become a big part of SaVannah Goodsell’s life and when she got the opportunity to take over ownership she knew she had to do it!

DK Nutrition opened up in October of 2020 selling Loaded teas & meal replacement shakes! SaVannah started in August of 2021 & has been there just about every day since. I will always be thankful to Haellie & Lindsey Hart for giving me the opportunity almost three years ago. My customers have turned into friends & I’m grateful for each & every one of them!

Starting in April when ownership changes we will have new, exciting things coming to our little strip center here & we are so excited for the future here in DeKalb!

Cooper Propane Company was formed in 1947, driven by a mission to supply the rural residents of Delta County, Texas, with “city gas” beyond the main lines. Electricity had reached the majority of rural areas by the late 1940’s but it did not supply heat to Delta County homes. Seizing the opportunity to provide family, friends and neighbors with access to gas-powered heating, Cooper Propane began a mission we continue more than 70 years later—providing exemplary service to bring comfort into homes and businesses throughout northeast Texas.

A ‘green’ company since its inception, Cooper Propane was instrumental in the development and use of propane as an alternative energy in farm power implements in Northeast Texas. As the company matured, operations expanded into irrigation, stand by fuel supplies, standby/off grid generators, central and zone heating systems, instantaneous water heaters, hot tubs/pool heating, decorative gas lighting, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, gas grills and fuel for motor vehicles.

Cooper Propane began to expand to bring its services to customers beyond Delta County in 1955 by opening up shop in Lamar County, TX. Today, known as The Propane Companies, the organization serves the energy needs of more than 10,000 customers in thirteen counties, including: Red River, Bowie, Fannin, Hopkins, Rains, Hunt, Franklin, Morris, Titus, Wood, Cass, Camp and Upshur. The Propane Companies meet the needs of residential, agricultural and commercial customers through service centers operating in Cooper, Paris, DeKalb, Sulphur Springs, Winnsboro and Mt Vernon, Texas, ensuring a propane expert is always nearby.

The Mane Room Salon

The Mane Room Salon, 106 N Johnson St., DeKalb, TX 75559 opened up in January 2022. Formally Known as Johnny’s Style Shop. The building has been a working Salon/Barber Shop since 1990.

Now owned by Carrie Flanery, the shop is supported by 4 Stylist and one Nail Tech. The Mane Room Salon specializes in cuts, colors, perms, extensions, spa pedicures, manicures, gels, dips, and good conversation.
